Inspired by traditional terracotta Kendi (water container), F. Widayanto has created his series of kendi with new touches of nozzle, color and motive. Each Kendi is one of a kind with different names and individual certificate.
‘Bangkong Mengkurep’,’Dara Percil’,’Tugu Bancet’,’ Buntel Godongan’ are few of the names given to each Kendi depending to the shape and design. The names are typical Javanese and Sundanese relating to the animal such as frog, lizard, butterfly, bees…
F. Widayanto has been creating this kendi since 1985 almost fifteen years ago, As of today hundreds of Kendi have been produced and collected among his buyers. Each purchased are documented on his special file. His Kendi are very special and unique of its kind.
