Sarasvati (2009)

Sarasvati

In Hindu mythology, Sarasvati represents the goddess of the arts, Literature, beauty and knowledge.

Sarasvati is embodied by a beautiful women riding a swan standing on a bed of lotus flowers. In her hand, she holds a music or other art instrument.

In my interpretation of the goddess, Sarasvati emerges a fashionable woman as represented by her stylish hairdo, makeup and elegant dress.

This ceramic statue is fashioned of clay coming from quarries in Sukabumi, West Java, and fired to a temperature of 1250 degree Celsius.
